The Management

School Governance

At Soofia International School, strong and effective governance forms the foundation of our success. The school is guided by well-structured management bodies that work collaboratively to ensure smooth operations, maintain high standards of education, and uphold the institution’s mission and values. Through clear leadership, accountability, and shared responsibility, our governance structure supports both academic excellence and the overall development of the school community.

The Founding Body

The Founding Body plays a vital role in shaping the long-term vision and direction of Soofia International School. Comprising respected members of the Butha-Buthe Muslim community, this body serves as the proprietors of the school and is deeply committed to preserving its values and purpose. Their responsibility is to ensure that the school continues to grow in alignment with the original vision of providing quality education while promoting cultural understanding and community development.

Within the Founding Body, a dedicated committee represents the interests of the community and works to safeguard the objectives of the school’s founders. This committee ensures that all major decisions reflect the values, expectations, and long-term goals of the institution, maintaining a strong connection between the school and the community it serves.

The School Board

The School Board is a key governing body responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and operational effectiveness of the school. Appointed by the Founding Body for a three-year term, the Board ensures that the school functions efficiently while maintaining high standards in both academics and administration.

The Board works closely with the school leadership to monitor progress, implement policies, and support decision-making processes that benefit students, staff, and the wider school community. Its role is essential in maintaining transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all aspects of school life.

In accordance with government regulations, the School Board is composed of a diverse group of representatives, including members nominated by the Founding Body, parent representatives, a teacher representative, local authorities, and the School Principal, who serves as secretary and an ex-officio member. This balanced representation ensures that different perspectives are considered in decision-making, promoting fairness and inclusivity.

A Collaborative Approach

At Soofia International School, the collaboration between the Founding Body and the School Board ensures a strong governance system that supports both strategic vision and operational excellence. This partnership enables the school to maintain its high standards, adapt to changing educational needs, and continue providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for all students.
